Message World Day
of Canoeing 2003
by
Ulrich Feldhoff
ICF President
Dear Sports friends,
Dear friends of canoeing sports around the world,
It is with greatest pleasure that I send my heartfelt and
best regards to all
National Canoe Federations and members of the International
Canoe
Federation and friends of canoeing sports around the world
on behalf of the
International Canoe Federation on the occasion of the World
Day of Canoeing
2003.
The International Canoe Federation representing
its 117 member National
Federations globally for a long time is making efforts for
the idea of free
practice of the canoeing sports in the nature and healthy
canoeing sports as
activity close to the nature as leisure sports.
The World Day of Canoeing symbolizes the efforts of the canoeing
community
around the world to promote our sports as a symbiosis between
the human
and the nature. In this sense also the World Day of Canoeing
taking place on
June 1 th , 2003, is a visible symbol for the efforts for
a global improvement of
the living conditions of all humans.
I salute all partners of the International Canoe Federation
supporting us by
promoting this idea actively, our Continental Associations,
National
Federations, National Olympic committees and especially the
sportsmen, may
they be high competitive athletes or leisure time participants.
They all and the
thousands of volunteers on all continents contribute to the
promotion of our
sports.
The great joy and enthusiasm for the canoeing sports will
surely improve by
the World Day of Canoeing 2003.
With my best wishes for the human beings all around the world
and our
canoeing sports
